When you say clear do you mean see threw like mono or silver. If it’s a shiny silver it may cause them to strike the leader which is not good.

The vinyl coating is offered in clear or black. I would think in a dark environment black would show up my readily to fish whom are looking up than would clear vinyl. I may be worrying too much.

PA I was at a yard sale and there was a half spool of clear surflon 7 stand stainless that I got for a buck. The pound test was missing on the label but the thickness is about the same as 20-25lb mono so it is likely 10-15lb test and very easy to tie. I had a spool of seaguar 35 floro and lost it over the summer, darn it. Recently I bought a Giant Pflueger Levelwind reel and it had what appears to be 50lb mono on it and I filled an empty tippet spool with that. I think what I have will do, maybe not for Solitario's Muskie but pretty much everything else.

A guy from an ice fishing page claims to use this. Not available in the U S. He says he will use it in light test. Catches lots of Screenshot 2021-11-20 7.59.35 PM.pngperch, bass with it but says its tough enough for the pocono plateau pickerel.

PA, that's interesting, 11 pound test. My 15 lb Surflon is ok but It is definitely not easy to tie nor invisible in any way. I sure like the idea of catching legal sized pickerel. I've only landed one per year thoughI've been bit off by something unseen many times.

You should be able to get plenty during ice season on a few Pocono Lakes.

I am getting closer to tryin it. First I have to figure out how to stay warm. I'm making headway.
