Anyone planning on going this year. I’ve been to this show several times over the years and enjoyed it. Lots of variety. I am however hesitant to go this year, worried that Covid will keep a lot of vendors away and make it not worth the drive.

I'm thinking about going. I'll probably go on Monday if I do, sense it's usually way less busy and I should have that day off. I always try and pick a weekday due to the crowds.

I've never been. It's mainly about new stuff and the stuff I am looking for right now is old stuff. My availability would be 2/7, 2/8, 2/11, 2/12, 2/13, and subject to change. I doubt if I would go unless some of you were going the same day.

I wouldn't mind going if there were a bunch going. Like TC I'm into used gear but there may be lots of new lead and lures there for me. I'd rather go for comradiere. Maybe there will be a good deal on CRAWLLS.

Who else can come on the 7th? I already know TC and he’s no big deal. So black cat and wadman? TS ? Grem ? Don309? Who else. Sol this is as close as most of us get to you.

Wish I could but the Honda’s transmission went and I don’t think the old beater will make it. Hope you guys find some good deals.

I am committed to a couple of friends, “if” we go. We are holding out the first couple of days to wait and see what people say online whether the amount of vendors at the show is the normal amount or Covid scarce. If scarce, we are going to skip it.

We’re treating it like a salt fishing day, a last minute decision depending on conditions. If we do go, I will be sure to post back in the event anyone happens to be going that day as well.

At this point It looks like TC Blackcap and I. I will go with which ever group is the biggest. I only got to this show every 20-25 years.

No one answered the roll call so I thinks there is a lacks of inthuzyazm. Frankly there doesn't appear to be any fishing gear there.

Thoughts?

I went over the maps and vendors list. Remove the charters and there is not much left. I think I will skip it this year.

I guess I agree. Some other local stuff coming I guess.

I’m going to hit up the Oaks one. There are a couple of bait vendors I want to give a try as well as they have the worm booth. And then there is a great bar tucked back outside of the retail area that serves the best smoked meat in the area.

I honestly forgot it started today. I haven't really heard anyone talking about, so kinda spaced it. Doesn't sound like I'm going to miss much.

I've been to a couple ones in Pittsburgh not much ever going on. Usually just captains for charters and a bunch of lodges. I did find a couple booths with great sales but when your trying to walk around and just look you get those people pushing stuff to sign just plain annoying.

I wrote off this show and the oaks shows years ago. They are 95% guides and outfitters trying to sell trips, 2% knot tying tools, 2% electronic companies showing their new stuff (showing not selling) and the rest are hawking clam chowder in a can.

LOL, you are 100% correct! The one year Shimano was there and they had a reel on display that I liked and I said I'll take it. They then informed me that they are not selling them there. Umm, kind of stupid. They had a fishing fool ready to separate himself from his wallet right in front of them. G.Loomis was like that the one year as well offering "as is" no warranty. Ugh!
