It's very close to the main park. You can follow the stream most all the way down and go as far down as you're comfortable with. Lots of brookies in it. If this group on here were a larger membership group, like facebook I would never have even mentioned the name lol. I've held that one pretty close, it's not well known and the most picturesque run I've ever seen.

You do have to walk the trail down a bit til you see the creek. There is another trailhead right near the intersection of Worlds End Rd. and High Knob called a Nature Trail. That one takes you down to the creek as well. The one I marked on the map is closer to the creek itself.
I've hiked around that area and probably crossed it backpacking. I just never really think about fishing that much on those trips.

My only chance to fish this weekend was cut short by drenching rain. We tried Prompton again, it was slow but I managed 2 Pickerel, one small Perch and this Crappie. I got it on a micro top water lure then the skies let loose and the trip was cut short.

Quick few hour trip. I’m going to be traveling a lot and with the rain/cold I had to get out. Would’ve let go but my brother slid down hill and after I took a pic I mumbled something just before he bopped it on rock. I said “I was going to release that”. He said “no we aren’t releasing that.” Well alright, can’t argue now lol. He’s back working but the new gig works 15-20 hrs/week. Maybe if I’m not consumed at work I’ll kill a few deer for him.

Saw about 20 including some over 24-26” but looking gaunt from months of heat. It’s fish in barrel if you don’t mind the fall to your death slipping at top. Happy to share location. I didn’t harass much and way downstream near Lehigh always holds a ton. Easy shallow holes picked over but deep, hard fishing areas always hold fish. Chance at one 15 lbs+ in a low flow creek if not a Brook.

That is a tank of a trout but to be honest, I would not expect that trout to taste good. Nature has its anomalies, that trout fits that bill.

I won’t be eating it lol. I gave him some McCormick applewood dry rub lol. If I could’ve spoken faster it would still be swimming. Unless it’s Mahi or Tuna chances are I’m throwing it back lol.

Exception being the wilderness hikes and creek side meals. I’ve been known to eat a native skin, bones, and all. Gotta survive and that’s a lot of calories to donate to the earthworms

lol. Bootfoot will condemn your harvest activities on principle.
I say send it to someone you love... I had this sister once....She received a custom LMB head for a shifter knob in her 72 Pinto. Looked great there and made a listing Impression....52 yrs worth and counting.

Just one salmon landed yesterday for me and only a couple of hookups. I prefer to sight fish rather than blind cast so spotting something through the downpour moments were few and far between.

One friend landed two, had several more hookups and another friend went 1 for 1. The other 3 with us enjoyed beer along with us. ;)

Today the river is almost at 1500 cfs so we are enjoying a Bloody Mary at the bar as I type this. We’ll see how flows decrease and head out below the lodge when it’s time.

What an epic day today. A push of Cohos lasted all day and all 6 of use feel like we are well beyond our years. We only kept 3, the freshest of the freshest if you will but the amount of hookups was at a level we’ve never experienced up here. If they weren’t mouth hooked, a quick palm of the reel was an easy decision, the next one will be.

A little something to take home.
