Lost a 4lber last night. Would have been my PB Nockamixon bass. Oh well fish stories no pic it didn’t happen. This one bothers me a bit. It’s was a beautiful fish.

Well, my morning started off well!!! Approx. 24 inches, MelvinP can confirm. What a fight!!!! 5 weight fly rod with 4lb tippet!!!! I would say at least 15min to wrangler this beast in!!!!! What a blast to catch such a fish on a rod i built!!!! Thanks MelvinP for the rod, and for netting my first ever channelcat on a fly rod!!! Wooooohooooo!!!!!!

Zoom in on pics. Thats an actual feather under the clear coat!!! Not easy to do!!! Thats why i did it on my own rod! I figured if it looks bad, its my problem! Lol

Not a fish, well baby perch only, last weekend the dock had tons of circling brutes. This week I stopped quick to see the owner, about a dozen huge trout belly up. Water temp, 80 degrees… heard Mauch Chunk lake was 84, can’t imagine much in the creek below survived either. Bummer……

Hoping the 60 degree high tomorrow and rains bring temps down a bit. Might try and hit a cold creek in the AM. Probably be one of my last attempts until fall.

I guess what I don't understand is how you catch these Channel Cats. How do you keep the chicken livers on your fly when false casting?;)
