    What did you Catch Today?

Snow in the air and insects hatching with trout feeding on them, a little crazy but it is March. I got 7 or 8 small rainbows and one niced sized one with rosy cheeks.

    What did you Catch Today?

I found some gills and crappies willing to take top water poppers. Shallow water = warmer water during our early spring warmer temps. Crappies got active right around dusk

    River Walleye

No, I stick to ice fishing or creeks in the winter. I'm not against it, just not in the habit of fishing the Susque in the winter. I have ice fished on it though.

    Panfish flies

If you throw line over your right shoulder one man can cast toward the shoreline and the other facing out toward open water. You can also backhand cast - rod in right hand, throw line off to the left and back across, but that's how I threw my shoulder out.

    Panfish flies

I gave up using traditional dry flies years ago. The gills will tear them up. A balsa popper is ideal and holds it's float longer.

    Swim bait, lightweight

I'll be on trout streams then. How about mid-April when the water warms and the panfish are in the shallows, you can catch them on fly rod poppers

Size 9, I experimented with some sole inserts, seems to be working

    Wading Boots

All the other soles suck, no traction. I have 2 sets of felts that are worn out, the basic rubber soles are worthless. I think the way the boots are made on the interchangable sole boots is the problem, it's not like an ordinary boot, more like strapping wooden planks to your feet.
