Went to my local creek Mingo and looks like it got hit hard with the rain last week. Hooked into one with the new glass rod carbon grip felt nice still gotta put it to the test. Trout look like they got washed out.

Glad to see you got out. Wasn’t able to myself but still got the whole week and a second stocking for those that couldn’t make it. Don’t think I’ll be out tomorrow with the eclipse.

May not get that many people out or they will leave if not getting fish so I’m going to go later in the day and try. Thinking if muddy waters try my normal and stick with them dark color flies.

I don’t really like fishing for perch. Usually when I get a couple that deep they always die so since I don’t keep them I try to stay away from them. Looks like some nice sizes.

Sounds like a hard one since you’re combining steel to salt. Steel can be done with light gear like a 100 but for salt I would at least start with a 300. Also for a bait since it’s a close system I would get a salt water one for salt. Also look at your drag size it will matter for a bigger fish...

There’s a couple Muskie guys I heard who mark for trolling. They set the buoys up in certain depths and then troll around them in a big circle going around one then heading to the other.
