6' ultralight casting rod

My son is well covered for fly fishing gear and spinning gear as well. He lives next to this tiny pond of about 75' in diameter. He often takes his 7 yr old boys over to fish but he doesn't have any light little rod to match the quarry. As a surprise I wrapped this rod and am gifting him an antique Johnson pushbutton to mess around with. I hope he understands the sentimental value as it is a perfect tiny pond rig.
6', Rated 2-6lb, 8 guides including the tip. Reel is loaded with 6 or 8 lb Cajun Red. Perfect for sunnies and small bass. just needs 3 coats of varnish.

10 eyes would be my least in that rod. Just my opinion.

It was a kit and I wouldn't mind adding one more on the reel side. CRB specked the layout: 3 1/8 , 7, 11 1/2, 17, 23 1/2, 31 3/8, 40 3/4.

Its only my second rod and so I have no instincts to go by. Time will tell.
