Wow! Very thoughtful to release it but a part of me wants to see the world record “Triploid” get knocked out by a non-genetic experiment. A club recently mentioned stocking triploids. I Iike catching monster trout and my favorite are the ‘loops with their light blue color phase and some other non local subspecies. I know it’s put and take but I just can’t get comfortable with Triploids. I’ve tried fleshing out why I feel like that’s a bridge too far and can’t rationalize my feelings on them but I feel them. I really enjoyed Palos and still enjoy Tigers so it’s not a selective breeding thing. Most I can get to is the idea of giving a trout, my favorite trout variety a 3rd chromosome, essentially physically and mentally deforming it, are all I come up with for why I don’t like the idea.
