How do you transport rods?

A couple years ago I was going to make a pvc rod holder to transport my saltwater rods on my roof rack. Than I ran across these ski/snowboard holders, at the time they were $65.00 well worth it. I like them because they lock and slide out to reach everything.

When I had a Chevy Trailblazer I had used garment rods and Berkley rod holders to make rod racks. Never had a problem up to 7' I think.

We don't have the Trailblazer anymore.

In the Corolla I just open the passenger door and pass the long rods through between the door and frame, between the seats, and into the back windshield area at an angle. The rod butt rests on the floor of the passenger side. I think 7' are the longest we have in one piece rods,. My wife is small enough that riding in the passenger seat with 2 rods on her side is tolerable.
