Liar!I'm shutting down all trips further than Merril Creek (8.7mi) for the rest of summer. Wife is loosing her job next week and we have extensive pre-planned family vacation time that will take up most of July and Aug. I have all the Fish in the freezer that I could eat in the next 6 Months. Since I only have the Delaware and Merrill creek to choose from in that radius I am choosing to Pickerel alone for the next many trips. I know there will be many bass and crappy that will glam-on but My pursuit will be specifically Pickerel all summer.
The biggest reason I switched to NJ is that Merrill Creek is only a little over 8 miles away and the other reason I that I've read that this is the place where specialists feel that the next NJ State records will be caught over the next couple of years. Bass, Pickerel and Salmon(already this year) have been growing in average compare to other record lakes in the region (hopatcong, Budd and others).
Sol Merrill creek is the closest other than the Lehigh River and the Lehigh doest have many this far downstream. I can't wait for this summer to straighten out for Sweetie Pie and I.
