So what are the basic tools you need to build a rod. Does a rod wrapper do it all.

I built my own rod wrapper and you need rod dryer And a bone type object to rub the wrap tight. Other than that you can get by

Rod dryer is what spins it right.... Can't it be spun by hand to wrap the thread or does the dryer do more

Doesn't look very hard. A lot of glueing and wrapping thread. I'm in no rush for the rod so when I get some time I'll put it together slowly until I like it. Or worth a try.

Here is my wrapping jig. I don't use epoxy yet but will sometime soon.

Looking good Don. I just bought one. It was cheaper than actually buying lumber right now. If I had stuff laying around I would've did it myself.

I may try to buy or build a dryer before winter. Although not impossible it gets pretty dificult to use epoxy without a spinning dryer.

I just bought a kit it had everything I needed including the glue and epoxy. Plus a dvd and book to get me started. So I’m set for even fixing up my older rods.

I'm curious of what thread finish most of you use. I've been stuck on Thread Master light-build for a while now.

I just got all flex coat stuff bought it in a kit. Let ya know if I like it.
