When it comes to vises (not vices):

Who owns vises with metal bases vs C-Clamps. I currently have the clamp type and like that it is close to me. The Base type looks handy in that it can easily be pushed away when you're done tying. Some have an apparent spring lever, I guess its a spring lever, on the Regal. Others, like HMH, Stonfo and Renzetti have cam levers. What is your preference?

I clamp my base down normally but it’s convenient to be able to take my vise on the road if needed. I’ve tied in my truck before pretty hard to find a clamp spot

I’ve pushed so hard on deer hair making bass bugs that I pushed my vise apart (way more than necessary)but it didn’t move lol

So you switch out the the plate for a clamp or you clamp down the base? Is that a Dyna?
