I toss them at whatever structure I can find. One thing I love about throwing a jig is that a jig is to an angler what brail is to a blind person. You learn the feel of everything on the bottom from rock to wood and even old wood. And then the tick of the bite, it just brings a smile to my face and the ensuing, got em!
I like the rage tail craws. I use a texas rig the same way to feel out structure and the bottom. Very similar.

I just fish my crawdad on a plain jig Works great. If I wanted that fancy skirts I would just tie some up.

So no one has address the term” trailer”. You have shown me what a crawl is but I already knew that. What makes it trailer crawl or crawl trailer? Is that when it is in combination on a jig…say a skirted jig of some sort? Where is the term “ trailer” applied? I love the looks of those crawls.

I know what a Crawl is but when does it become a “trailer” crawl? Or crawl “trailer? What does it mean when you add the word “trailer”? Is that when the crawl is added to a skirted jig or something similar. When does a simple crawl become a Crawl trailer?
And quit making terms up. There isn’t such a thing as “blind casting. “ if there were you would esplain it.
Below is the Crawl that Sol sent me. This is now a trailer correct?

Is that a “trailer” because it is added to the skirted jig?
Yes, anything you add behind the main lure would be a trailer. I don't do it much with jigs, but I've used the idea a lot on spinner baits. I have some of those jigs A5 showed and I might try the rage tail on them this year though.

I’ve used a bunch of diffeeent offerings on spinners and beetle spins with some success.
I’m intent on nailing down this football jig business because I think it will help in weedy areas. Also off deep points.

Now we are into scents. Don’t need them haha. You could do a bunch of stuff in that department. You can drive yourself nuts with it. Anise oils, wd40, make your own, buy a bottle, crush up some fish eggs, get some dirt out of the water rub it on.

Don, you asked about a craw and trailer I showed you a pic of what a trailer is

Blind casting is not throwing to cover or anything specific. Maybe a shelf or a flat before cover or a hump. I blind cast all the time.

Blind Casting, lol, Thats what you mean by it?
C'mon Man, That is just fishing. You upity types invented a term for normal everyday fishing.
But this Trailer Crawl thingy looks effective for hard targets. I can see how it would fight through the guppies to get to the bass. 1642960056167.jpeg
I guess we'll have to meet on the Nock so I can Show ya how.

Thanks for explaining.

Grem, where are you? These guys need some linguistic help pronto!

Craw, not crawl. I guess you could crawl a craw, but I'm probably making that up ;)

In A5's link he is talking about redfish. Spawning bedds are redds ;)
