you don’t see people skiing on electrical conduit pipes and bracing will just give snow a place to hold you back.

Think this in Whatever you have avail. I'd try 3/8" thick wall. to imitate the under carriage on these. Cross braces unbolt or fold. The flexible flyer undercariage has stood the test of time.

nappy that looks great. I built mine the same way except I have a wood box that attaches to what you have in the picture. The box helps to stiffen up the sled. I have even ridden mine down a hill to get to the lake. if you care to you can cut a knife edge on the front edges of your risers to help cut through the snow. I also have a very long rope on my sled so me and the weight of the sled are dispersed over a bigger piece of ice.
